Located on the Centre Street in the Pointe-St-Charles district, Skipper is the restoration and the expansion project designed to provide 12 housing units in a developing area. The preservation of its facade, close to St-Charles church, gives it a tone steeped in history, to which our team added a contemporary touch.
Imagined as a mirror image, the extension mirrors the volume of the existing building, creating a luminous courtyard where residents can meet. The structure of the walkways articulates smoothly over two levels, linking the extension to the existing building. Designed in galvanized steel grating, the rounded walkways overhang the courtyard, provides durable, low-maintenance outdoor living spaces for the occupants of the upper floors.
Skipper’s uniqueness and harmony derive from the symmetry of its geometric lines, whose rigidity is broken by the addition of delicate details that soften its curves in a refined way and give it that airy, luminous, uncluttered look.
