Like Old Orchard Beach and Wildwood, the design proposal for Place Wellington aims to embody the maritime spirit of these lively vacation resorts, whose coastal promenades are packed with festive summer attractions. The maritime aesthetics deployed lure the visitor in, and the reinterpretation of several symbols borrowed from the beach provide a playful stopover during the stroll. Lifeguard cabins, windsocks, tall grasses and seaside kiosks enliven the square in sequence, revealing new surprises to visitors as they stroll along.
